NOS Vintage Alloy A5 Bar Magnet (Long)
Its good to have friends and customers which share the same passion and have the knowledge, possibilities and sources to build guitar & pickup parts made to Vintage specs. We had the opportunity to get some old magnets through such a relationship. These Mags was custom casted to Vintage formular from a Company in UK with 100 years of experience in the design and manufacture of magnetic components!
These Mags are charged the same way like the old Gibson PAF magnets, they are not fully charged or fully "saturated" with a charge, the Gauss vary slightly like the old mags. The result is a more open sound with more vintage attitude (same like the PAF Magnets we using exclusive for our Area59' PAFs). We tested many many manufactures and make ear testing PAFs with slightly less charging. Its a huge difference in sound in our opinion. We think those slighty less charge mags have more Vintage attitude.
-ALNICO4 Bar Magnet --This magnet is best described to have the characteristics of both Alnico 2 and Alnico 5. Kind of a happy medium. Due to the slightly different Gauss, this pickups sound great open, with lots of harmonics and excellent stringseperation!
Each Magnet is unique in look since its the old way sandcasted. Size is apr. 2.5 x .5 x .125''
