MOD® Electronics Oil Caps are high quality, hand-crafted capacitors that are the perfect choice for guitars. Each capacitor is impregnated with mineral oil for a void-free winding providing highly stable capacitance. The capacitor is hermetically sealed in an aluminum casing to ensure a long life. The detailed construction results in a precise capacitance with a tolerance of ±10%. Mod® Oil Caps also feature a red stripe to designate the outside foil.

Why Caps sounds different?

Do different types of capacitors have different sound qualities?
Changing the type and value of capacitor used in your guitar's wiring harness can have an effect on the overall sound of your guitar. We have compiled a list of sound characteristics for each different type of capacitor, but please remember that all changes to tone are subjective and each user could understandably derive different sound traits from any component change.

Ceramic Disc - Flat sounding, slightly harsh or edgy. Often used in 70's Guitars

Oil Filled ( MOD PIO) - Slightly warmer/darker and smoother

Metalized Film (Orange Drop) - Flat sounding with a little more warmth and transparency than ceramic disc.
In regards to cap values, this really depends on how much and how quickly you want the treble to roll off. The higher the value, the more treble will be rolled off.

More then 100'000 "TVT" Pots sold !!!! Crazyparts CTS "TVT" pots were designed for the guitarist who is looking for the ultimate quality and tonal Guitar/Bass pots available.
A good set of pickups can make an average guitar incredible, and an incredible guitar...phenomenal...if your guitar sounds good unplugged, it can be a tone monster with the right electronics!

Our CTS "TVT" Series pots are custommade for Crazyparts since 2009. They offer solid brass shaft and thread, compare to standard Zinc shaft, have the lowest turning tourque from CTS ava. along to the lowest tolerance of 10% (normally CTS pots have tolerance of around 20%) Hereby you need to know that the Tolerance means the K value and Taper. Not just the K Value.

Our New "SVT" Soft Vintage Taper pot has CTS Taper "H" 25% this is a nice option if the player prefer a med. gain or cleaner sound setting or want a softer sweep down in the lower Volume range, also here is the same...its depending on the players personal experience and taste.
